Controversial literature (Library of Congress Subject Headings)

Controversial literature is part of the Congregational Congregational Title Library, which is used in the description of religious books. In this context, it has the following narrow usage: "under the names of individual religious and monastic orders, individual religions, individual Christian denominations, and sacred titles of sacred works for works opposed to or expressing opposition against the groups or works. " Prior to 1998, subdivisions were allowed for 'religious topics and general philosophy'.
