The subjective character of experience is a term in the psychology and philosophy of mind which shows that all subjective phenomena are related to one's point of view ("ego"). The term was coined and illuminated by Thomas Nagel in his famous paper "What Is It Be Be A Bat?"

Nagel argues that, since bats appear to be conscious mammals by way of feeling their environment entirely different from humans, it is impossible to talk about "what it feels like to be bat to bat" or, while bat examples are very illustrative, each species is conscious, because every organism has a unique viewpoint that can not be inhabited by other organisms. For Nagel, the subjective character of the experience implies the cognitive closure of the human mind on some facts, especially the mental states created by the physical state.

Subjective reality

The subjective character of the experience implies that the perception of all the things, concepts, and "truths" in the universe differs between individuals: we all live in different worlds, each of which has similarities, because of our unique perspective in our world. The only thing a person can hold is something someone has experienced or felt. Until someone has had experience about something the object or concept itself is not "real." Someone in Africa is aware of the fire and sees it but for an Eskimo who has never seen fire before fire does not exist in the same way. The notion of a person's "reality" subjectivity also implies a moral relativism aspect, that each person's opinion is the only thing they can hold on their own.

Multiple-subjective reality

A two-subjective reality arises when one's mind interprets information and, instead creates only one interpretation that the conscious mind can understand, creates some. This different "reality" then causes conflicts in individuals who can disrupt what is really going on around them with the alternative reality formulated in their minds.
