Taboo (2002 TV series)

Taboo is a documentary television series aired in 2002 on National Geographic Channel. This program is an educational view of "taboo" rituals and traditions conducted in some societies, but is prohibited and illegal in other countries.

Each hour-long episode describes certain topics, such as wedding rituals or initiations, and explores how the topic is seen around the world. Taboo generally focuses on the most misunderstood, disliked, or disapproved activities, occupations and roles.

National Geographic TV producers do not produce Taboo in the season from the number of fixed episodes, so the number of episodes in each batch of production varies wildly. The production order does not always match the sequence of episodes that are set in to DVD "season" boxsets.
